Co’Quesie Gilbert affectionately known as “Cookie” is the Entrepreneurial Founder and CEO
of Bourbon Street on the Main, Write To Unite a Non-Profit Literary Foundation and Southern Icon Talent Firm.
Co'Quesie
is an African American Grandmothers daughter and native of Los Angeles, California whose families roots deeply from Louisiana
and the Carribbean. She is an advocate for youth and life empowerment and is dedicated to unifying families
and communities. At 39 she is full of life, vigor and creativity. She has fortified the idea that “ If You Believe It,
You Can Achieve It.”
For
over 22 years, Co’Quesie has been recognized by community leaders, colleagues, parents, children and peers for her networking,
motivational capabilities and passion to incorporate education, entertainment and love. She has volunteered at Hospitals,
Community Centers and on Legistative boards.
She believes that If God is for you, He’s more than the whole
world against you. Her commitment to excellence and her desire for bridging gaps between multicultural people from all walks
of life is the foundation which brings forth the life and unique concept of Bourbon Street on the Main.
Co'Quesie served for many years in the corporate arena having
received her education from UCLA in Westwood California and Columbia University in New York City. Her professional
strength is in law and real estate and her professional passion is in conceptual design, development, marketing, education
& entertainment.
Co’Quesie
is a philanthropist, mentor and a private member of various charities and organizations devoted to family life, childcare,
education, personal development and cancer research.
Her training and experience has rooted her with superior teaching, sales, billing, marketing and administrative skills
all that have been the cornerstone of her career. Her experience in the strategic implementation of developing key corporate
events bridges the gap between education, legislation, medical, media and community partners. These relations have proven to yield not only a positive community
image for the companies she has worked with but also a sanguine reputation in cities and states across America. Her knowledge
of sales techniques encompasses high degrees of passion, truth, creativity and skill working locally and abroad.
Her other accomplishments include supervising
and developing marketing and outreach teams and organizing and strategically planning self initiated events with outside organizations
while developing and maintaining professional relationships with consumers, vendors, attendants, entrepreneurs and professionals.
Cookie has been engaged in promoting education and training students
in the areas of Spanish, Math, Computer Processing, Graphics, Database Management, Technical Writing and Customer Service,
in addition to Consulting Community Leaders in diverse work groups from coast to coast in the implementation of marketing
and strategic planning.
She has pioneered multicultural
projects globally and is recognized as a professional event planner and entertainment consultant. She is well traveled and
has made contributions to her communities and to countries abroad. Co’Quesie has served as guest speaker at colloquiums
and seminars throughout the east coast and is a play write, ghost writer and author of the upcoming books “The Black
Bag, Thistles In The Wind and A Bedside Book For Lovers.”
As a humanitarian, Co’Quesie encourages people to eliminate emotional stress,
anxiety, depression and fatigue by understanding the power of positive thinking and incorporating "The Secret"
as a way of life. Her daily routines include stretching, sound therapy, proper breathing, rest, relaxation, entertainment
and enjoying a balanced diet. She encourages the use of organic products and fuses them with harmony and laughter.
Her favorite word
is Embrace, her favorite term is “Choose Joy” and her favorite quote is "Be Blessed and Inspired to be a
Blessing."
Her life’s cliché was written by an unknown author who wrote: “You
are where you are because you think what you think, if you don’t like where you are, change your way of thinking.”
